Vantara’s efforts extend beyond rescue and rehabilitation. Last year, the initiative introduced "Superstars of Vantara," a captivating show that featured Bollywood icons like Neena Gupta, Sanjay Dutt, and Anil Kapoor. The show allowed these stars to engage with Vantara’s diverse wildlife, underscoring the sanctuary’s commitment to educating the public about conservation and fostering a deeper understanding of the animals it cares for.
In addition to this, Vantara celebrated World Environment Day with an impactful video campaign, featuring renowned celebrities like Ajay Devgn, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Kusha Kapila, and cricket star KL Rahul. The video served to inspire viewers to commit to environmental preservation, showing the power of celebrity voices in spreading awareness about conservation.
Vantara, a pioneering initiative by Reliance Foundation, has quickly earned widespread recognition for its exceptional efforts in rescuing, treating, and rehabilitating distressed wildlife, both within India and globally. Led by Anant Ambani, the Director of Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation, Vantara’s mission focuses on providing care to animals in need, promoting conservation, and ensuring their well-being.
Spanning 3,000 acres in the Green Belt of Reliance’s Jamnagar Refinery Complex, Vantara is rapidly emerging as a global leader in wildlife conservation. With a team of over 2,100 dedicated staff members, the centre has rescued approximately 200 leopards from across India, many of which were injured in road accidents or caught in human-wildlife conflict situations.
In Tamil Nadu, Vantara rescued over 1,000 crocodiles from an overcrowded facility. The initiative has also extended its reach globally, rescuing animals from hunting lodges in Africa, as well as from threatened facilities in Slovakia and Mexico.
Through these commendable efforts, Vantara continues to make a significant impact on animal welfare, not only providing a safe haven for distressed animals but also setting an example for conservation on a global scale.
