Following online claims of infidelity involving his fiancée, South Korean actor Park Jun Hwi is at the centre of a developing controversy.
When private images of Park, half-naked, on a bed next to his co-star Woo Jin Young went viral on social media, the situation became more heated.
SPOTV reported that the picture was first uploaded from Park's personal Instagram account before being quickly removed, which led to further rumours.
Adding to the scandal, private chat messages between Park and Woo—who were both cast members in the stage production Bare: The Musical—have also been leaked.
The screenshots depict a conversation where Park is with Woo while receiving a call from his fiancée, suggesting an intimate moment was interrupted:
Woo asked if it would be alright for him to take a shower. In response, Park suggested, “Wouldn’t it be fine if you shut the door?” Woo, appearing hesitant, replied that he was just being cautious and asked again if it would be okay. Park reassured him, telling him to shut the door and added that he would raise the volume.
The actor was reportedly preparing for an upcoming wedding, leading many online to speculate that his fiancée may have discovered the compromising photos and leaked them in retaliation.
One netizen commented, “From the photos, it looks like the fiancée caught them red-handed, took the photos, and posted them.” Another remarked, “Wow, the first photo totally looks like it’s from a cheating scene.”

In the wake of the controversy, both Park Jun Hwi and Woo Jin Young have been removed from their respective theatre roles. A statement from the production team of Bare: The Musical confirmed the decision:
“Actors Park Jun Hwi, who played Peter, and Woo Jin Young, who played Tanya, have withdrawn from the performances due to personal reasons. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to the audience due to the actors’ withdrawal and the resulting casting changes. Those who wish to cancel or receive a refund… can do so without any fees.”
Since then, it has been revealed that Park and Woo will be replaced in Bare by Kang Byung-hoon and Park Do Yeon. Park's career has also been negatively impacted by his removal from another production, Nijinsky.
