Sonam Bajwa to join Harshvardhan Rane in upcoming drama film Deewaniyat

Punjabi cinema star Sonam Bajwa has been roped in for the musical love story Deewaniyat, where she will star alongside Harshvardhan Rane, known for Sanam Teri Kasam.

Bajwa, celebrated for her roles in hit Punjabi film franchises like Sardaar Ji, Carry On Jatta, and Nikka Zaildar, announced the exciting news on Instagram. She wrote, "So thrilled to bring the fire of love to #Deewaniyat! An intense saga of passion & heartbreak, starring alongside the amazing @harshvardhanrane!"

Deewaniyat is helmed by Milap Milan Zaveri, the director behind Marjaavaan and Satyameva Jayate. The film's screenplay is co-written by Zaveri and Mustaq Sheikh.

Meanwhile, Harshvardhan Rane is enjoying the renewed success of his Bollywood debut Sanam Teri Kasam, co-starring Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane. The 2016 romantic drama recently returned to theaters, drawing audiences eager to relive its emotional journey on the big screen. In a historic feat, the film became the first Bollywood re-release to surpass Rs 50 crore at the box office.

Produced by Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan under Vikir Motion Pictures, the upcoming musical love story marks an exciting addition to Sonam Bajwa’s filmography. Apart from Deewaniyat, Bajwa is also set to appear in two major Hindi films this year—Housefull 5 and Baaghi 4.

Deewaniyat is scheduled to commence filming soon, with its theatrical release planned for late 2025.
