The long-awaited sequel Son of Sardaar 2 officially landed on OTT today (September 26), 2025, releasing exclusively on Netflix India.

The comedy-action entertainer, starring Ajay Devgn along with Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, and others, releases roughly eight weeks after its theatrical run.

In a recent Instagram post, Netflix India teased the film’s arrival: “Silencer paao puttar. Sardaar ki entry hone wali hai. Watch Son of Sardaar 2, out 26 September, on Netflix.”

The film's OTT release gives the audiences a chance to view the chaotic, dhol-filled ride from the comfort of their homes. And also a chance to some of the audience who missed watching it in theatres.

Plot

Son of Sardaar 2 is directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, and is sequel to the 2012 cult hit Son of Sardaar, which had Sonakshi Sinha in lead opposite Ajay Devgn.

In the film, Jassi (played by Ajay Devgn) travels to Scotland hoping to patch things up with his estranged wife Rabia (Mrunal Thakur), but he ends up entangled in a mess of mob conflicts, a chaotic Sikh wedding, and a scheme involving him posing as a war hero.

The stakes rise when Jassi’s false narrative and emotional struggles collide, results in comedic mayhem and confusion.

In the review of Moneycontrol, the reviewer called 'Son of Sardaar 2' a film that “leans heavily on slapstick and chaos, with little concern for logic or pacing.”

In the review, Ravi Kishan was praised for his outstanding performance and the one who brings genuine fun, while Ajay Devgn “does his best to stay afloat amid the madness.”

“The first half of the film is frankly a drag. Jokes fall flat, characters wander in and out of scenes without much purpose, and the writing often feels like it’s improvising as it goes along," the review mentioned.

If you are a fan of madcap Bollywood comedies that abandon logic in favour of this full on entertainment movie. Son of Sardaar 2 might offer a fun watch on OTT.
