Ever since buzz began circulating about a sequel to the iconic television show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, excitement has been building around Smriti Irani's potential return to the small screen. Now, according to recent reports, the anticipation is turning into reality as the actress-turned-politician has officially begun shooting for the much-awaited revival.
As reported by India Forums, the actress-politician will be shooting with Z plus security for the show. Strict security protocols, including phones being 'taped,' and footfall near the sets of the show being restricted have been laid as the OG Tulsi begins shooting.
According to sources as cited by the publication, "The mobile phones of everyone on the sets excluding Amar sir, Smriti Mam and Ekta mam will be taped. Everyone will be barred from using their mobile phones. Smriti is also shooting with Z plus security and everyone on sets will have to adhere to the strict security protocols laid."
Strong rumours regarding Smriti Irani's eagerly awaited comeback were sparked by Ektaa Kapoor's earlier major hint that she would be bringing a "politician" on board for the sequel of her beloved daily soap opera Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Despite the fact that neither Smriti nor her former co-star Amar Upadhyay have acknowledged their roles, the revival is becoming more and more anticipated on Indian television.
Originally produced by Balaji Telefilms, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi first aired on Star Plus in 2000, with Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay playing the lead roles. The show enjoyed an impressive eight-year run and remains one of the most iconic and widely watched television dramas in Indian TV history.
