Prominent figures of Indian cinema recently took a significant step toward strengthening Bollywood’s presence on the global stage.
In a special meeting with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, industry stalwarts, including Siddharth Roy Kapur, Aamir Khan, Ronnie Screwvala, Ashutosh Gowariker, and Vidya Balan, engaged in discussions aimed at fostering stronger ties between the Indian and New Zealand film industries.
The meeting focused on exploring collaborative opportunities, enhancing cultural exchange, and expanding the reach of Indian cinema to international audiences. Luxon, visibly enthusiastic about the conversation, captured the moment in a lively selfie, which he later shared on X (formerly Twitter).
Luxon wrote, "The film scene brings money into our economy which creates jobs and grows incomes – and I want to see more of that. So it was great to catch up with a few Bollywood stars to get their thoughts on what more we can do!"

In response, Siddharth Roy Kapur of Roy Kapur Films highlighted the positive exchange, stating, "It was wonderful to meet with the Hon. Prime Minister of New Zealand today, to discuss exciting opportunities for our film industries to collaborate on."
