Shruti Haasan has never been afraid to speak her mind, and her recent appearance on YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast demonstrated that. In a refreshingly candid discussion, the actress shared her opinions on marriage, love, loneliness, and personal development.
"I'm afraid of marriage, but I think commitment is important." Shruti acknowledged that she is extremely uneasy about marriage when questioned about it. "The thought of marriage terrifies me. I'm not afraid to say that. The thought of securing everything with a piece of paper scares me because I've worked so hard to be my own person.
Shruti explained that although she may not be a fan of traditional marriage, she is a strong believer in loyalty, commitment, and all that marriage is supposed to represent. "I'm capable of doing that by myself. "I don't require a piece of paper," she continued.
About Learning to Accept Solitude and Being Single
The actress also acknowledged that she is single at the moment and that she is concentrating on loving herself. She smiled and said, "I love having someone, and I would love to have cuddles every day," before disclosing that the previous year had been a time of personal development. "Being completely independent is a big journey. That was the most significant personal development of the previous year.
Shruti acknowledged that although she does long for company, she is also learning to be happy being by herself. She thought, "I'm working on solitude, not calling it loneliness."
Is She Looking to Have Kids?
Speaking about motherhood, Shruti disclosed that she has always desired to have children, but not at the expense of being the only parent. "A child benefits from having two parents, so I never wanted to be a single mother. It would be fantastic if you could strive to have two parents.
Contemporary Partnerships & the Stress of Isolation
Shruti also explored the emotional intricacies of contemporary partnerships and asked why people look for a mate. "How often do we feel lonely and want a partner? And how often do we desire them merely to enhance our lives?," she said. Her perspective placed a strong emphasis on the value of emotional independence and relationship intentionality.
