Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty welcomes lord Ganesha at her home with dhol and a grand ceremony during Ganesh Chaturthi. The actress is skipping the celebration this year due to an unfortunate death in her family. However, the actress is missing the grand celebration.
Shilpa took to her Instagram and shared a video featuring several clips of the past celebrations. She penned in the caption, “Home feels incomplete without you this year, but the heart is full of your blessings.”
She continued in Hindi that translates into English, “Ganpati bappa morya, come soon next year #GanpatiBappaMorya #Gratitude #Blessed #GaneshChaturthi #GannuRaja.”
The actress celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi in lavish celebrations that light up Mumbai every year, but this year is different. The actress posted a video of her past Ganpati celebrations on Instagram.
Shilpa Shetty informed her followers on August 25 that she will not participate in Ganesh festivities, breaking her 22-year-old custom due to a 'bereavement in the family'.
Shilpa penned on her Instagram, “Dear friends, With deep grief, we regret to inform you, due to a bereavement in the family, this year we will not be holding our Ganpati celebrations.”
She continued, “As per tradition, we will be observing a mourning period of 13 days and will therefore refrain from any religious festivities. We seek your understanding and prayers. With gratitude – The Kundra Family.”

On the work front, Shila Shetty was last seen in Sukhee, which also starred Kusha Kapila and Maahi Jain in supporting roles. The film revolves around Sukhee, a dissatisfied with her mundane life, homemaker who decides to travel to Delhi to attend her high school reunion. The trip soon turns out to be a sweet blessing that helps her find her identity.
The actress is gearing up for her upcoming Kannada action drama, KD: The Devil. Directed by Prem, the film also stars Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Reeshma Nanaiah and Nora Fatehi in the key roles. KD: The Devil will hit the theatres on September 4, 2025.
