Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has firmly addressed false claims circulating about his personal life following his recent marriage to Sophie Shine. The former India opener made it clear that he is stepping into this new chapter with a positive outlook and has no intention of revisiting the past.
Shikhar, who parted ways with his former wife Aesha Dhawan in October 2023, spoke candidly about the speculation that resurfaced after his wedding. While congratulatory messages poured in from fans and well-wishers, unfounded narratives also began to spread on social media. Responding to these claims, Shikhar emphasised that he has always believed in moving forward without holding onto emotional baggage.
On 23 February, Shikhar took to his official social media to clear the rumours.
He said, “ I have come across some posts on social media attributing a disappointing statement about my personal life. I have never carried baggage from the past be it on the pitch or outside. I firmly believe in the power of positivity while respecting my past.”

He further added, “This is a new chapter in my life, and I feel truly grateful for the love and blessings I have received from my fans, friends, family, well wishers and media. I strongly urge people to not breed off my name with click bait, insensitive and false statements on social media. Let's spread love and positivity.”
