The sudden death of actress and model Shefali Jariwala has shocked both her fans and the entertainment industry.

The 42-year-old, who is well-known as the "Kaanta Laga" girl, reportedly died in Mumbai on Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest.

She was taken to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital for emergency care after her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, was spotted outside the hospital looking clearly upset.

In a video, Parag Tyagi was seen driving away from the hospital in his car late on Saturday night.

Clearly distraught, he partially shielded his face with his hand as the vehicle exited the premises. In other clips, several of Shefali’s relatives and close friends were also seen departing from the Mumbai hospital.

Later, footage showed members of the Mumbai Police and forensic team arriving at Shefali’s residence in the city, who as per reports brought Shefali home from the hospital.

Shefali was reportedly taken to the hospital by Parag and three other people, but regrettably, the doctors pronounced her "dead on arrival." Since then, Cooper Hospital has received her remains for a post-mortem investigation.

The tragic news first surfaced through journalist Vickey Lalwani, who confirmed her passing on social media.

In his post, he wrote, “Shefali Jariwala, the Kaanta Laga girl, is no more. The reason of her death is not known yet to this journalist, but I can confirm that she was brought dead to Bellevue Multispeciality hospital (opposite Star Bazaar Andheri) about 45 minutes prior to this post. Shefali was rushed to the hospital by her husband and three others. This news was confirmed by the reception staff of the hospital, who said, ‘Shefali had expired before she was brought in. Her husband and a few others accompanied the body.’ We asked for the RMO who took over the call and simply said, ‘For further details, please speak to Dr Vijay Lulla (cardiologist).’”

Shefali was earlier married to musician Harmeet Singh (of Meet Bros fame) in 2004. The couple parted ways in 2009. She later tied the knot with Parag Tyagi in 2015.

Her unexpected death has prompted an outpouring of grief and condolences across social media.
