Shark Tank India 4

In the latest episode of Shark Tank India 4, two startups made compelling pitches, showcasing innovation and deep purpose. Moderate, a Hyderabad-based health brand founded by Sreeram Reddy Vanga, Dr. Lalitha Palle, and Kartikeya Kabra, introduced their flagship product, Calorie Crusher Tablets. These tablets aim to reduce calorie and carbohydrate absorption, catering to food lovers who want to maintain their fitness goals.

Seeking Rs 50 lakh for 1.25% equity, the founders faced scrutiny from the sharks. Peyush Bansal wished them luck with Anupam Mittal, known for his fitness expertise, while Vineeta Singh remarked, "We will wait and watch."

As Lalitha detailed her extensive work experience, Anupam humorously asked, “That’s it?” prompting her to elaborate further. Vineeta joked, “We are sold.” Anupam then questioned the product’s scientific basis, and Lalitha explained its functionality. However, Anupam commented, "Conceptually thoda bhari hai."

Anupam and Lalitha engaged in a deep discussion about the product’s mechanism, with Kunal Bahl pointing out, "Your product is going to be scrutinized as soon as the episode airs based on the claims you're making." Vineeta backed out, citing skepticism about potential side effects.

Aman Gupta, impressed by Lalitha, said, "Thank you for the science class. Being a commerce student, I got to learn a lot. Lalitha ji, seeing you, I feel I can trust you." He offered Rs 50 lakh for 2.5%. Kunal liked the brand name but not the packaging, offering Rs 1 crore for 5%. After negotiations, the deal closed at Rs 1 crore for 5% equity, with both Kunal and Aman joining forces.

The second pitcher, HireForCare, deeply touched the sharks with their heartfelt mission. Founders Rajat Vij and Ram Niwas presented their platform, which caters to children with neurological disabilities such as cerebral palsy and autism. Their request: Rs 36 lakh for 3% equity.

Rajat, a single parent of a child with cerebral palsy, and Ram, who tragically lost his wife in a car accident just 20 days before the shoot, turned personal adversity into a mission to support other families facing similar challenges. Ram, a father of two, spoke about his wife being his strongest pillar in his entrepreneurial journey.

Launched in March 2021, HireForCare is dedicated to creating a one-stop special child care solution. Rajat shared, “We’re not just building a business; we’re creating a community. This partnership is more than an investment—it’s a shared mission. With the sharks’ guidance, we are poised to scale our efforts and drive meaningful change.”

Kunal Bahl commended them as "strong," while Vineeta Singh reflected on her initial gender-based assumptions, admitting, “When I heard about this, I thought women pitchers would come… that's how stereotypes work. Seeing you both running a nanny business challenged my own biases. You are real role models for Indian men. Hats off to you.”

The sharks not only saw emotional depth but also immense business potential. Anupam Mittal advised them to build a broader ecosystem for special needs childcare. The investors proposed a "friends and family" round, offering mentorship alongside financial backing.

An all-shark deal was secured at Rs 36 lakh for 5% equity, with Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Kunal Bahl, and Peyush Bansal investing collectively. As Rajat and Ram joined the Shark Tank India family, they gained more than just funding—they received invaluable mentorship and strategic support from industry leaders.
