On June 3, a supporter of Sean “Diddy” Combs was removed from a New York courtroom amid his ongoing s*x trafficking trial after loudly disrupting the proceedings. The woman, initially observing from an overflow room, entered the main courtroom and began shouting at both the defense team and Combs himself, causing a brief halt in testimony.
Witnesses reported that the woman yelled, “Everyone is laughing at Diddy,” and “It’s not right what they’re doing to him!” She also directed her words at Combs personally, shouting, “People are trying to do you wrong.” Court officers responded swiftly, escorting her out as legal staff and jurors were visibly taken aback by the sudden outburst. The courtroom was brought back to order within minutes.
According to courtroom observers, the disruption was a result of the supporter’s emotional reaction to the trial’s progression. Her remarks appeared to reflect loyalty to Combs and distress over the allegations he faces, which include s*x trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transporting individuals for prostitution.
Once the interruption was resolved, the trial resumed with key witness testimony from Eddy Garcia, a former security supervisor at the InterContinental Hotel. Testifying under immunity, Garcia detailed a 2016 incident involving Combs and singer Cassie Ventura. He alleged that Combs attempted to retrieve surveillance footage showing Ventura being assaulted.
Garcia claimed Combs offered him money and pressured him to provide the footage, warning that it could “ruin his career.” Though Garcia didn’t initially have access to the video, he later received a USB drive containing the footage from his supervisor and handed it to Combs. Garcia also revealed he signed a non-disclosure agreement carrying a $1 million penalty and was given $100,000 to divide among himself and two other employees.
“He told me not to make any big purchases,” Garcia said, interpreting it as an effort to keep the transaction discreet.
Prosecutors argue this testimony supports a larger narrative of evidence suppression and manipulation. Combs has pleaded not guilty and maintains his innocence as the trial continues.
