Producer Ramesh Taurani has announced the comeback of the thriller franchise Race with its fourth instalment. Following Salman Khan's debut in the franchise with Race 3, Taurani has finally addressed whether Salman Khan will return for the latest instalment.
In an interview with PTI, Taurani said, The script is ready for the next 'Race' instalment, and we will announce the casting of the film soon. The cast will be new. I can't comment on whether Salman Khan will be part of it or not. It will go into production by the end of the year. We haven't decided yet who will direct it."
The producer also mentioned his upcoming projects, confirming that sequels to both Bhoot Police and Soldier are in development. "Official announcements regarding these projects will be made soon," he added.
The first instalment of Race featured an ensemble cast including Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Katrina Kaif, and Bipasha Basu in lead roles and was released in 2008. Race 2 also starred Saif Ali Khan as the lead along with John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, and Jacqueline Fernandez. Both films were directed by Abbas Mustan.
Race 3 hit the screens in 2018 with Salman Khan as the lead and Bobby Deol in a negative role. The third instalment was directed by Remo D'Souza.
The actor's latest appearance was in Tiger 3 alongside Katrina Kaif, and he is currently busy with the filming of 'Sikandar.'
