Actor Mukul Dev breathed his last on May 23 in New Delhi at the age of 54, following a brief battle with illness. After more than a week of treatment in the Intensive Care Unit, the actor's condition began to deteriorate late Friday night, which ultimately resulted in his untimely and tragic death.
The film industry has been shaken by the news, and many celebrities have paid their respects, including Salman Khan, who costarred with Mukul in the 2014 movie Jai Ho.
Salman Khan took to Instagram Stories and shared a snapshot from the film featuring the him alongside Mukul.
He wrote, “Miss you my dear brother Mukul. Rest in peace,” the Sikandar actor wrote, expressing his sorrow.

Mukul’s funeral took place the following day, on May 24, at Lodhi Crematorium in the Nizamuddin area of Delhi.
His brother, actor Rahul Dev, was seen performing the final rites in front of a group of grieving family members, colleagues, and close friends in several videos from the ceremony circulating on social media.
Earlier today, his brother and actor Rahul Dev confirmed the news of his death through a post on his Instagram Story. “Our brother Mukul Dev passed away peacefully at New Delhi last night… He’s survived by his daughter Sia Dev. Missed by siblings Rashmi Kaushal, Rahul Dev and nephew Sidhant Dev. Please join us for cremation at 5 PM.”

Mukul Dev was a man of many talents, far beyond his identity as an actor. A licensed commercial pilot, he received his training at the prestigious Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi in Uttar Pradesh and spent nearly a decade flying professionally.
He managed an aeronautical training institute in Delhi in addition to his aviation career, skilfully juggling his passion for flying with his commitment to the performing arts. His diverse career and lasting contributions to film have had a lasting effect on the Indian film industry.
