Bollywood star Salman Khan has quietly stepped up to help Punjab, where devastating floods have left thousands homeless and farmlands destroyed.
His charitable organisation, the Being Human Foundation, has sent five boats to assist in ongoing rescue efforts across the state.
The update first came through a post by paparazzo Varinder Chawla on Instagram, confirming that the actor’s NGO had moved quickly to support ground-level operations. Out of the five boats, two were formally handed over to officials at the Ferozepur border, while the remaining three are already being used to ferry stranded residents, deliver supplies, and back up rescue workers in other districts.
According to Dainik Bhaskar, Aam Aadmi Party General Secretary and Punjab Tourism Chairman Deepak Bali visited one of the flood-hit villages in Ferozepur to oversee the process. “Two were handed over to the district administration at the Ferozepur border, while the remaining boats will be used in rescue operations across the state,” Bali explained. He added that once the situation calms down, Salman Khan’s foundation plans to adopt several border villages near Husainiwala and assist in their development.
Images and videos from the handover have been circulating online, showing volunteers, officials, and villagers gathered by the swollen waters. The scenes highlighted how grim things remain in Punjab — homes submerged, farmland lost, and thousands of people forced into temporary shelters.
Salman Khan isn’t the only celebrity to step in. Gippy Grewal, Sonu Sood, and Diljit Dosanjh are among the Punjabi celebrities who have started delivering aid and relief supplies to the impacted areas. Fans have praised their efforts, seeing the film industry support the state in its most difficult times.

The Being Human Foundation has supported food drives during the COVID-19 lockdown, given medical assistance to those in need, and given financial support to daily wage workers in the film industry over the years. Supporters frequently claim that his altruism off-screen equals the heroics he displays on screen.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Salman is busy hosting Bigg Boss 19 and has just started filming Battle of Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Another project with Kabir Khan is reportedly in the pipeline, though official confirmation is awaited.
