This year, Jio Hotstar is set to release an intriguing new web series titled Salakaar, a gripping spy thriller based on real-life events. The teaser for Salakaar is now out, giving audiences a glimpse into a covert mission that changed the course of history.

Salakaar stars Naveen Kasturia in the lead role, best known for his performance in the popular series Aspirants. The teaser reveals that the show is rooted in a true story involving one of India’s most secretive and successful intelligence operations. The series is set during a crucial time when Pakistan, under General Zia, was allegedly attempting to develop its first nuclear weapon.

The teaser opens with a powerful voice-over that hints at Pakistan's nuclear ambitions and India's strategic response. The storyline follows a brilliant Indian officer who is sent undercover into Pakistan. This individual, both a spy and a former IPS officer, operates under deep cover to disrupt Pakistan’s dangerous plans. The character is referred to as India's “trump card,” highlighting his crucial role in national security.

The plot is speculated to draw heavy inspiration from the life and missions of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, known for his fearless undercover operations and sharp strategic mind. Though not officially confirmed, many viewers believe Naveen Kasturia’s character is modeled after Doval, especially given the parallels in the storyline.
