Aneet Padda is riding high on the success of Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara. Despite starring in a previous film, the actress became an overnight sensation after the film was released in July.
However, Aneet has recently reflected on her acting journey and admitted that she secretly recorded her auditions without informing her parents. The actress suggested that she used to lock herself in the room to record the audition, telling her parents that she was studying.
Aneet also revealed that she was well aware that she had to do this on her own, as her parents did not have enough money to take her to Mumbai to audition for roles.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Aneet Padda recalled, “I always wanted to act. I would be recording auditions and locking my door, telling my parents I was doing homework…I knew I’d have to do this on my own because my parents didn’t have enough money to take me to Mumbai to audition.”
For the unversed, Aneet hails from Amritsar, Punjab, and completed her schooling in Spring Dale Senior School. She pursued her bachelor’s degree from the Jesus and Mary College of Delhi University, while also modelling in advertisements simultaneously.
Aneet and her parents, Sukhjit and Navdeep Padda, share a close relationship. A few days ago, the actress posted a video of herself and her father singing the title song from Saiyaara.
Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, Ahaan and Aneet delivered stellar performances as two souls grappling with their pasts, which have received widespread praise from both critics and viewers.
Ahaan Panday makes his big-screen debut as Krish Kapoor, a musician seeking personal and professional redemption, while Aneet Padda brings depth to Vaani Batra, a journalist confronting her inner struggles.
