Ahaan Panday is riding high on the box office success of his big-screen debut film, Saiyaara. However, the casting director, Shanoo Sharma, has recently revealed that Ahaan has been waiting for the big break for almost nine years.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Shanoo recalled that she met Ahaan when he was 19 years old but looked like just 15. She shared, “Ahaan’s been with me for almost nine years. When I met him, he was a 19-year-old child looking like he was 15!”

She added, “I saw this post of him doing something, found him interesting, and asked to bring him in. But he refused to come in because he was tanned, looking dark, and he thought we’d reject him. But the day we met, I knew it... that he and I are going to be working together.”

Shanoo further revealed that Ahaan instantly became a part of her team. She added, “He has this need to constantly just do what he wants to do without any filters. He has this knack of charming you to do what he needs you to do—and this was there since day one. He became part of our team.”

The casting director then recalled how Ahaan reacted after he bagged the role of Krish in Mohit Suri’s film and said, “He was so excited about YRF. He said, ‘I’m going to come every day.’”

Shanoo Sharma is known for discovering talents like Ranveer Singh and Parineeti Chopra for films made under the Yash Raj Films banner.
