In the latest update on the Saif Ali Khan stabbing case, a face recognition report has confirmed that the accused, Shariful Islam, matches the person seen in CCTV footage from the actor's building. The test, which was conducted at the Kalina Forensic Lab, revealed that the face of Shariful Islam, who was captured in the footage coming down the stairs, matched his picture taken after his arrest. "The test has come positive," a source revealed, confirming the match between the two images.
In addition to this breakthrough, forensic experts previously examined Saif Ali Khan’s blood samples, his clothes, and the attacker’s clothing to confirm whether the blood stains on the attacker’s clothes belonged to the actor. The investigation is still ongoing, and the accused was recently sent to 14-day judicial custody by Mumbai’s Bandra Metropolitan Court after the police requested to extend his remand.

Police have also been investigating leads beyond Mumbai. A two-member team from Mumbai Police traveled to Nadia district in West Bengal to question a woman connected to the case. A police source from West Bengal stated, "Mumbai Police has questioned a woman from Chapra in Nadia district in the attack on the Saif Ali Khan case. Police can apply for transit remand to take her to Mumbai." The woman, Khukumoi Jahangir Sheikh, is believed to have been linked to the SIM card used by the attacker.
The incident that started it all took place earlier this month when Saif Ali Khan was attacked in his home. The attacker attempted a robbery at the actor’s 12th-floor residence in the Satguru Sharan building in Bandra. During the attack, Saif was stabbed multiple times, and he was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent surgeries. The investigation into this violent crime continues, with the police following every lead to bring justice for the actor.
