Rubina Dilaik, a strong voice in the entertainment industry and now a mother to twin baby girls, used her recent vlog to shed light on a long-standing issue — society’s obsession with fair skin, even when it comes to toddlers.
Speaking of her daughters, Jeeva and Edha, Rubina shared: “My one baby is little dusky, the other one is fair… and people come and compare. Which is so bad.”
She revealed that unsolicited advice from relatives, like applying home remedies to lighten a child’s skin, is still a harsh reality — even in 2025.
“Why should I? I have such beautiful daughters. I never entertain that mindset. Ever.”
Determined to break the generational cycle, Rubina says she’s already instilling self-love and acceptance in her young girls.
“I always whisper to them — you are beautiful, you are strong, you are fearless. This is how we build psychology. It’s not just words — it’s foundation.”
The actress reflected on her own long road to self-acceptance and how she’s determined that her daughters don’t go through the same emotional battles.
“It took me more than 30 years to learn this. But I want my daughters to grow up free of that comparison and beauty standard.”
Calling her girls “beautiful in their own unique way,” Rubina urged people — especially family members — to move past these harmful narratives.

“I don’t want any conversation that says one is more or less. Both are beautiful, and they’re enough, exactly as they are.”
Rubina’s heartfelt parenting philosophy is a much-needed reminder that true beauty lies in diversity, and love begins with acceptance.
