Hollywood actor Robert Pattinson will soon return as Bruce Wayne in The Batman II. The actor will soon begin the production of the upcoming instalment.
Media outlet Deadline has revealed that Warner Bros. Discovery’s shareholders have officially confirmed that Matt Reeves’ The Batman II will begin filming this spring.
The letter reads, “Since the release and commercial success of The Batman in 2022, DC fans have been waiting for the second instalment of the Matt Reeves-directed movie. 'The Batman II (2027) is preparing to begin shooting next spring among several other projects in development.'"
The production letter further suggested that The Batman sequel has already started pre-production. Meanwhile, the principal photography has been scheduled to begin on January 1, 2026, at Warner Bros. Studios in London.
Robert Pattinson is slated to reprise his role as the Dark Knight of Gotham. However, director Reeves has confirmed that Colin Farrell will also return to the franchise as villain Penguin in the upcoming movie. Barry Keoghan, aka the iconic Joker, is also slated to return to the sequel.
The film has faced several production delays, and the latest update has excited the fans. The shooting of the film is also expected to begin later this year.
Meanwhile, further details of the upcoming film have been kept under wraps.
Additionally, key characters from the first film, including Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, and Barry Keoghan as the Joker, are also expected to return.
The Batman: Part II is slated to hit the theatres on October 1, 2027.
