Robert Pattinson opens up about his baby girl; says, 'My baby smells incredible'

Robert Pattinson is basking in the joys of fatherhood nearly a year after welcoming his first child with partner Suki Waterhouse.

In an interview published by Vogue, the Twilight star shared a heartwarming insight into his new-dad experience and the special bond he shares with his daughter.

Before becoming a father, Pattinson admitted he didn’t understand the fascination with the scent of babies. Now, he’s fully embraced it.

“I remember people used to say, ‘Oh, don’t you love the smell of babies?’ but I thought they were just smelling baby powder,” he said. “But then I had a baby, and I was like, ‘My baby smells incredible.’” The 38-year-old actor added that his daughter has a distinct scent that feels uniquely hers. “There’s something there that allows me to identify her. She doesn’t smell like other babies.”

While Pattinson is typically private about his personal life, his wife Suki Waterhouse has shared her perspective on motherhood in previous interviews.

In her August 2024 interview with British Vogue, the model and actress revealed that she and Pattinson carefully planned to start a family. “One day we looked at each other and said, ‘Well, this is as ready as we’re going to be,’” she said. Waterhouse also described the decision as a leap into “chaos,” one they’ve fully embraced.

Their family life seems filled with love and laughter. In a December interview with Today, Waterhouse described a cherished daily ritual they share with their daughter. “At the end of the day, around 5 pm, we all get in the pool and just be silly. It’s amazing,” she said.

A source close to the couple told People in October that the pair, who were then engaged, are thriving as parents. “They are very much in love and happy,” the source shared. “Rob’s an amazing dad. They take turns working so one of them can always care for their daughter. They truly enjoy parenting and love bringing her along when they travel.”
