Rinku Singh reveals Shah Rukh Khan missed his engagement but is invited to the wedding, recalls nervous private jet ride

Rinku Singh and Priya Saroj have quickly become one of the most talked-about couples, with their engagement turning heads and making headlines everywhere.

The fearless cricketer, who’s won fans over with his powerful batting, recently shared some personal moments from the celebration — including how he personally invited Bollywood superstar and team co-owner Shah Rukh Khan. Although SRK couldn’t make it, Rinku fondly recalled a special flight they shared that still inspires him today.

Their engagement was nothing short of a star-studded celebration, bringing together big names from cricket and politics alike. It officially confirmed what fans had been guessing for a while: that Rinku and Priya are very much a perfect match.

Rinku told News24, “I had a chat with Shah Rukh Sir before my engagement and even invited him. But he couldn’t make it as he was busy with some shooting. Our CEO, Venky (Mysore) sir, was there."

Despite Shah Rukh missing the event, Rinku remains hopeful about the superstar joining the wedding celebrations. He reminisced about the time back in 2023 when, after his incredible feat of hitting five sixes off Gujarat Titans’ Yash Dayal, SRK promised to come and dance at his wedding.

“I have invited Shah Rukh Sir to my wedding as well. Let’s see if he comes," he said with a smile, also revealing that his family has tentatively set the date for November 2025.

Although SRK missed the engagement, Rinku shared a touching memory of flying with the superstar that left a lasting mark. In 2024, after not making the main squad for India’s T20 World Cup and while travelling to Mumbai for visa formalities, Rinku received an unexpected invitation to join Shah Rukh on his private jet.

“So this was the time when I wasn’t selected in the main squad — I was in the standby list. My flight had already been booked, and I was about to leave alone. Somehow, either Sir or Pooja ma’am found out, and they said I should travel with Sir. I was completely nervous — like, ‘I’m going to travel alone with Sir? How will I handle myself? What will I say?’ I tried so many times to refuse,” Rinku told RevSportz.

But SRK’s kindness and support made that flight unforgettable. “Once Sir had said it, how could I say no? He gave me a lot of encouragement. That season also wasn’t going too well for me. He was explaining things, giving me support. And for the first time, I sat in a charter flight — that too, with Sir. Those two hours were really, really amazing for me. What can I even say, it was just incredible,” Rinku recalled.
