As Diwali markets burst into colour and excitement, one face seemed to be lighting up more than just cinema screens — that of actress Sreeleela.
The rising South Indian star was literally the spark of Diwali 2024 after her image appeared on several firecracker boxes being sold all over India, making her the unexpected "face" of the holiday season.
Images from stores across the country revealed that Sreeleela's image was prominently displayed on packaging for well-known brands like Red Giant Fine Crackers, Flower Pots Giant, and Leo Electric Sparklers.
Her glowing photo, which was probably taken from a promotional shoot or movie still, showed her in a classic yet glitzy outfit and stood out among the holiday decorations right away.
The fact that firecracker packaging has historically been saved for legendary Bollywood actors and cricket players only served to highlight how amazing this was.
A major cultural turning point was reached when Sreeleela appeared with such titans, reflecting her quick ascent to fame.
With her energetic performances in Telugu and Kannada films, the actress has amassed a devoted following and swept the South Indian film industry.

Her reputation as one of Indian cinema's most vibrant young performers has been cemented by her energetic dance songs, such as Kissik from Pushpa: The Rule and Kurchi Madathapetti with Mahesh Babu, which have turned into party anthems.
Sreeleela has swiftly surpassed regional boundaries with her contagious on-screen persona and indisputable talent.
Now, as she prepares to make her Bollywood debut opposite Kartik Aaryan in Anurag Basu’s Sikandar, and gears up for the release of her Telugu entertainer Mass Jathara with Ravi Teja on October 31, she’s well on her way to becoming a pan-Indian star.
Her presence on firecracker boxes, however, also reignited a familiar conversation — the unauthorised use of celebrity images for commercial purposes.
