Fans of Prabhas were left anxious after news emerged that the actor was still in Japan when a powerful earthquake struck the country’s northern coastline.
The star had been visiting alongside producer Shobu Yarlagadda to promote the Japanese release of Baahubali: The Epic. Reports of a tsunami warning soon after added to the concern, with admirers eagerly looking for updates on their favourite actor.
One worried fan turned to X (formerly Twitter) to express their unease: “Japan lo Earthquake and Tsunami warning anta hero akkade unnadu repu return avuthunadu anta (There’s an earthquake and tsunami warning in Japan, and the hero is still there; he’s supposed to return tomorrow." )
The post quickly gained attention, prompting the team of Prabhas’ upcoming film The Raja Saab to reassure followers.
Director Maruthi stepped in promptly, putting fans’ minds at ease. “Spoke to Darling he is not in Tokyo and doing safe no worries,” he wrote, confirming that Prabhas was unharmed and away from the affected zone.
The earthquake, measured at 7.6 magnitude by AFP, struck off the Pacific coast near Misawa late on Monday night. Japan’s Meteorological Agency recorded tsunami waves hitting the northern Aomori region, where Misawa is located, leading to urgent evacuation alerts.
Thankfully, the warning was later lifted, though authorities emphasised the country remained on heightened alert for possible aftershocks.
