Thalapathy Vijay’s neighbours raise concerns about lost peace as massive crowds gather outside his office

Thalapathy Vijay continues to make headlines as his final film, Jana Nayagan, is yet to receive the CBFC certificate. The actor turned politician has a huge fan base, who frequently gather outside his house, and his neighbours are not okay with this.

However, many in the affluent neighbourhood were unhappy with the large attendance and complained to the media about the disruption of the tranquillity. Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) office in Panaiyur in large number of people to pick up optional nomination papers ahead of the Tamil Nadu elections.

To pick up their forms, thousands of Vijay supporters and TVK workers flocked to the party office. According to Thanthi TV, almost 3,000 people attended Panaiyur on Friday.

The neighbourhood didn't like this, even if Vijay's party and his followers were thrilled about it.

Videos of the ensuing mayhem outside the TVK office were released by Polimer News and PTTV. Police attempted to control the mob, causing the traffic to come to a complete stop.

One complained, “We can't even walk freely on our streets. They are setting up barricades. It's extremely difficult.” Another added, “We won’t just sit quietly anymore. We’ve come here, spending money, thinking we could stay peacefully in ECR (East Coast Road). Look around, there’s such a huge crowd here, can anyone even live here?”

The neighbours can be seen fighting and declaring in the recordings that the association will have to get involved.

About Jana Nayagan

For Pongal, Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, and Pooja Hegde, was scheduled to hit theatres on January 9. But since the CBFC had not yet certified the movie, the producer, KVN Productions, went to the Madras High Court to get the matter resolved.

The producer and the censor board have not commented, it is unknown whether the film is with the revising committee three court cases later. Vijay intends to run in the next Tamil Nadu assembly elections, hence Jana Nayagan will be his last movie.
