Actress Rukmini Vasanth, who impressed everyone with her performance as the antagonist in Kantara: Chapter 1, recently spoke about her experience being part of the film. Directed by Rishab Shetty, who also played the lead role in the film. This Kannada film was one of the major hits of 2025. It made more than Rs 800 crore worldwide.

A dangerous move at a very important time

Rukmini said in a recent interview that she was worried about playing a bad character at first, especially since it was so early in her career. She said that taking on the role was like a double-edged sword since it could either show off her range or make her appear horrible.

Rukmini said, "At this point in my journey, playing the bad guy in Kantara: Chapter 1 was a very risky experiment for me." "I kept asking myself, 'Will this hurt my career?' and 'Will everyone think I'm the bad guy?

No matter what, winning hearts

Even though she was terrified, the crowd liked what she did. Many others said that she did a great job of making a complicated character seem real and deep. Rukmini says that the answer made her feel better about her worries and made her want to take on harder roles in the future.

She said, "The most surprising thing was that people liked seeing me in that role and didn't hate me for it."At that point, I knew I didn't need to worry about how it will turn out. No one saw that coming, which was the finest part.

The fact that the actress was able to do well in a profession that most people would find strange so early in her career demonstrates how open and flexible she is. People who like her and people who don't like her both like these aspects about her.

Chapter 1 of Kantara is very important.
