Punjabi Singer Rajvir Jawanda passed away at the age of 35 following a bike accident. He was critical and on a ventilator for the past 11-12 days. The singer had also suffered cardiac arrest when initially admitted to a hospital in Solan. He breathed his last at a hospital in Mohali, Punjab, on Wednesday (October 8). A look at his journey.

Beginning Rajvir Jawanda was born and brought up in Jagraon, Ludhiana, in 1990. He was raised in a family rooted in discipline and service, inheriting his father’s values of hard work and dedication. His father served as an Assistant Sub-Inspector in the Punjab Police.

Started as a police constable Before stepping into music, Rajvir joined the Punjab Police, following in his father’s footsteps with pride and responsibility. Rajvir formally started working for the Punjab Police in 2011 as a constable.

Music dreams Despite sporting a Khaki uniform, Rajvir has always been passionate about melody and rhythm. His true vocation had always been music, and despite the discipline required by his career, he frequently composed, sang, and performed at local events in his spare time.
Bold career shift Rajvir took a bold decision and chose his passion over the police constable job. He left the Punjab Police to focus solely on music changed his life in 2019. Despite being risky, the move signalled the start of his remarkable ascent in the Punjabi music industry, propelled by unwavering determination and faith in his talent.

Personal life Rajvir Jawanda was married and had a kid. Throughout his career, tours, and life in general, Rajvir's wife has always been by his side. A close friend of Rajvir claims that when he left the house for a trip on a 1300cc motorcycle, his wife expressed concern for his safety. But Rajvir turned his back on him and walked away.
Tragic accident On September 27, 2025, Rajvir met with a devastating road accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, while travelling to Shimla. The crash caused severe head and spinal injuries, leaving him in critical condition. He was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Mohali, where he remained on life support for 11 days. The MRI report suggested that his brain was not getting adequate oxygen, leading to permanent damage. Unfortunately, Rajvir Jawanda passed away on October 8, leaving behind a lasting legacy.
