The festive season seems to have worked well for Dhanush. His latest directorial venture Idli Kadai, which hit theatres on October 1, is holding steady at the box office.

The rural drama has collected Rs 26.25 crore in India within three days of release, making it one of the notable festive openings this year.

Idli Kadai, released in Tamil and Telugu, opened to impressive bookings. According to a trade website, day 1 saw a net collection of Rs 11 crore across India.

The Telugu version added Rs 0.65 crore, while the Tamil version brought in Rs 10.35 crore. The film immediately captivated family audiences with its heartfelt narrative and rural backdrop.

Idli Kadai earned ₹9.75 crore on the second day, with Rs 0.75 crore from Telugu and ₹9 crore from Tamil. Audience reactions remained steady despite a slight dip. By the end of the second day, the worldwide total reached approximately Rs 25 crore, with Rs 20.75 crore coming from India.

Day 3, however, saw a noticeable slowdown. The film earned an estimated ₹5.50 crore, pushing its three-day India net to ₹26.25 crore. Trade trackers note that while the dip is visible, festive weekends often see collections bounce back with family crowds.

Dhanush's fourth directorial venture, Idli Kadai, has once again struck a chord with audiences. The movie portrays a heartfelt story of relationships and rural life, featuring key performances by Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Rajkiran, Sathyaraj, and Prakash Raj. GV Prakash Kumar's music adds to the film's emotional depth.

The steady box office performance highlights Dhanush's knack for balancing commercial success with meaningful content. Positive word-of-mouth feedback will be crucial in determining if the collections rise in the coming days.
