Filmmaker Major Ravi has found himself at the centre of controversy after announcing his new project, Pahalgam: Op. Sindoor. The director posted pictures from the Mookambika Temple on social media on Sunday. He did a puja there to start the movie.

"Starting our new project, Pahalgam: Op. Sindoor, with the blessings of Mookambika Devi." Major Ravi wrote "Jai Hind" as the title of his post.

Many Mohanlal fans have not liked the news, and many have said so online.

Fans on social media are very upset.

A few hours after Major Ravi's post went up, a lot of people on X (formerly Twitter) said they were angry and wanted to boycott the project. Some fans promised not to watch any of his future movies, especially the ones with Mohanlal in them.

One person said, "I've made the decision not to see the M-Ravi-Mohanlal movie in theaters. M-Ravi was the worst friend of all time! Sad!"

Another fan said that the filmmaker's recent work was bad, saying, "Giving out complete nonsense for years while losing and still bragging about helping Mohanlal. Stupid.

The hashtag #BoycottMajorRavi started to trend on social media, and fans told Mohanlal to think about not working with him again. One tweet said, "Fans of Mohanlal are coming together to fight Major Ravi's new movie." Sir, it's time to think about this partnership again.

Why Are Fans Angry?

Most of the backlash is because Major Ravi's box office record has been inconsistent in recent years. His first movie with Mohanlal, Keerthichakra, was a huge hit, but their next four movies—Kurukshetra, Karmayodha, Kandahar, and 1971: Beyond Borders—didn't impress critics or audiences.

A lot of fans think that these repeated failures have hurt Mohanlal's reputation and are not sure if he and the director will work together again.

Even though we don't know much about Pahalgam: Op. Sindoor, we do know that it is based on a real-life military operation, which is typical of Major Ravi's patriotic action dramas.
