Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda continue to delight fans with the inside glimpses of their wedding festivities. After sharing pictures from their sangeet night, the couple shared several pictures and videos from their Mehendi ceremony.
Rashmika’s mehendi artist Sona Suthar has now shared behind-the-scenes details from the ceremony and how thoughtfully the actress chose her henna design.
The Heena artist took to her Instagram and shared a series of pictures of Rashmika and Vijay. Sharing the pictures, she revealed in the caption that Rashmika had decided on her mehendi design a month ago. She further revealed that Rashmika wanted to stay true to her roots with a meaningful mehendi design.
The caption reads, "While creating Rashmika Mandanna’s bridal mehendi, she had already shared her vision with me almost a month in advance. Being a South Indian bride, she wanted the design to stay true to her roots — minimal in appearance, yet deeply meaningful and culturally significant. Unlike heavy and elaborate patterns, she preferred something elegant, subtle, and symbolic.”
Sona elaborated on the thoughtful design and added, “Her mehendi was thoughtfully customized with powerful spiritual elements.”
“On the front of her hands, we incorporated the symbol of parwati on one hand, representing prosperity and divine blessings, and the Om symbol on the other, representing the sacred union of Shiv and Shakti — the balance of Parvati and Shiva. To make it even more personal, we included “Shiva” written in Kannada and “Shakti” written in Telugu, beautifully honoring her cultural and linguistic heritage,” added the artist.
The caption continued, “The design also featured several meaningful motifs such as the Swastik symbolizing feminine energy, the Trishul representing masculine energy, along with the sun, moon, and lotus elements — all reflecting balance, divinity, and spiritual harmony. Although the design appeared minimal, every element carried deep significance, making it truly unique and rooted in tradition.”
The caption further noted, “Beyond the art itself, the experience of applying her mehendi was unforgettable. Rashmika is truly a gem of a person — calm, humble, and incredibly warm. She was very attentive, open to suggestions, and deeply involved in the creative process.”
The artist concluded the caption praising Rashmika and wrote, “Throughout the session, she was cheerful, bubbly, and full of joy, even dancing and enjoying every moment. It was a beautiful and memorable experience, and together, we created a mehendi design that was not just artistic, but a true reflection of her identity, culture, and spirit. Lots n lots of love to beautiful couple.”
For the Mehendi ceremony, the couple sported traditional ensembles custom-designed by Delhi-based designer Karan Torani.
