Rashmika Mandanna is riding on the success of a series of Blockbusters after making her Bollywood debut with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. She has now become a prominent actress in the Hindi film industry after winning over the South cinema.
However, being an actress was never her first choice. Rashmika has recently reflected on her struggles and pressure and noted that she never wanted to be an actress when she was younger.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Rashmika said, “To be completely honest, the younger version of me would have never imagined becoming an actress because it was never part of the plan. But looking back, I’m incredibly grateful I took that leap, because it truly changed my life in so many meaningful ways."
The actress emphasized that her approach to her career had always been straightforward: to do what genuinely made her happy and fulfilled her heart, which served as the foundation for everything she pursued.
She further noted that she had advised her younger self and anyone who was fearful or hesitant to take the leap, saying that if a girl from a small town like Coorg could achieve her goals, others could too, and encouraged them to seize opportunities, as they might be grateful for it later.
Rashmika also reflected on handling the pressure following the back-to-back success and said, “When it comes to handling the pressure of success and expectations, I remain fully aware that nothing in life is permanent. I’ve said this before, you can have it all one day, and it can change the very next.”
Rashmika further noted that she received strong support from her family, which helped her to easily navigate all highs and lows of her personal and professional challenges.
She said, “That perspective keeps me grounded. I’m also fortunate to have a strong support system in my family, close friends and my team, who constantly help me stay connected to what truly matters, regardless of the highs or lows…So while I genuinely appreciate and enjoy this moment of success, I embrace it with humility and a sense of perspective.”
Rashmika Mandanna was last seen in Chhaava and has a series of exciting projects in her pipeline. She will soon star in Thama, Kuberaa and Pushpa 3: The Rampage.
