Rashmika Mandanna is currently enjoying the success of her latest film, Chhaava. While the audience is raving about her performance, the actress recently opened up about her family in an intriguing conversation with Neha Dhupia on the latter’s show, No Filter With Neha.
During their chat, Rashmika shared some heartwarming and surprising details about her younger sister, revealing a 16-year age gap between them.
“I have a little sister, who is 10 years old, so there’s about a 16-year gap between us,” Rashmika disclosed during the conversation.
This surprising revelation left Neha Dhupia visibly intrigued and Neha added an interesting point to the discussion: "And apparently at some point, you told your sister, or somebody was informed that nobody should actually disclose that you are her sister so that she gets this super-normal upbringing."
Rashmika responded candidly, elaborating on how her parents have always ensured that she lives a grounded and independent life despite her rising fame. "Yeah, because my parents put this in my head that this is your life, don’t get us involved in your life," she explained.
It’s clear from her statement that Rashmika has always been taught to remain independent and not let her celebrity status overshadow her personal life. For her, maintaining normalcy has always been a priority, especially in raising her younger sister.
Rashmika further explained how her upbringing shaped the person she is today and how she wants her sister to experience the same.
"I’ve always had this thing with my sister that she can get anything that she wants, she can’t just say it and she gets it. But I don’t want that for her, because I am the person I am today because of the upbringing I had," she said, emphasizing the importance of a balanced childhood, where material comfort isn’t just handed over easily.
“I want her to have the same thing,” she added. "Of course, there’s a lot of security I can give her, there’s a lot of comfort I can provide, but when the age is right. Right now, she’s just little." With this, Rashmika expressed that while she can offer her sister protection and a comfortable life in the future, it’s essential for her to experience the right kind of upbringing at this tender age.
On the work front, Rashmika Mandanna is currently starring in Chhaava, which is now playing in theatres. Following that, she will be seen sharing the screen with Salman Khan in Sikandar this Eid.
