Hollywood rapper Sean Kingston has recently found himself entangled in legal trouble along with his mother, Janice Turner. Sean and his mother were reportedly found guilty of wire fraud in their $1 million federal trial. The mother and son duo could face several years of prison.

According to CBS News, a federal jury has found Sean and his mother guilty of all charges related to their luxury fraud scheme. Following the verdict, Janice was taken into custody due to her prior criminal record and significant involvement in the scheme.

The judge notably called Janice the "mastermind" behind the fraudulent scheme, describing her as the "operator, fixer, and accountant." She blew a kiss to her daughter, who mouthed, "I love you" when she was being taken into custody.

Sean was placed on house arrest until sentencing, with the judge denying his request to travel for a performance in Texas. Sean's team argued for his release, citing his heart condition and asthma. Meanwhile, his sister is posting $200,000 bail, and his aunt is offering her home as collateral.

However, Prosecutors called Sean and his mother "masters of deception and fraud.” They were convicted of conspiracy and wire fraud charges, each carrying a maximum 20-year sentence.

A key piece of evidence was a text message from Sean to his mother, instructing her to create a fake receipt. The text reads, “I told you to make (a) fake receipt,” followed by, “so it (looks) like the transfer will be there in a couple (of) days.”

However, Sean was previously arrested at Fort Irwin, an Army training base in California's Mojave Desert, where he was performing at the time. He chose not to fight extradition and was subsequently returned to Florida.
