Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 co-star Gursewakh Singh recently shared a heartfelt story from the film’s set — and it’s less about the action, more about the kind of person Ranveer Singh is behind the scenes.
Taking to Instagram, Gursewakh Singh opened up about a moment during an action sequence in Amritsar that went unexpectedly wrong. While such scenes are carefully rehearsed, things can still go off track in a split second — and that’s exactly what happened.
He wrote, “Ranveer Singh, why brother is such a lovely person and brilliant artist, let me tell you a story. We were shooting an action scene at Amritsar’s plane house, which is also in the movie. I was behind Ranveer Singh, and I had a bomb that I had to go ahead and set. Then I had to go to the tractor and protect myself between the tyres, and then Ranveer Singh had to cover me, as told by the action master."
Despite multiple rehearsals going smoothly, one small miscalculation led to a serious collision. “We had quite a few rehearsals, and everything went perfectly. But don’t know how I got it wrong… As soon as I left there, me and Ranveer Singh brother had a big collision – like something would hit at 70 speed,” he recalled.
The impact left both actors injured. Gursewakh Singh fainted, while Ranveer Singh was also hurt but initially moved away from the spot. “He got up and moved out there. He was hurt too, but I had fainted,” he shared, adding that the crew quickly rushed in to help.
When Gursewakh Singh regained consciousness, his first reaction was worry — not for himself, but for Ranveer Singh. Overcome with guilt and pain, he apologised, fearing he had caused serious harm.
But what happened next stayed with him.
“When Ranveer Singh came to know this, he himself came to me… I said, ‘Sir, sorry, it was my fault.’ I was in a state of crying,” he wrote.
Instead of reacting with frustration, Ranveer Singh reassured him instantly. “Gursewakh, never mind,” he said, pulling him into a hug. That one gesture, Gursewakh Singh said, changed everything in that moment. “We stood like this for about a minute. My eyes were teary—I was totally emotional with their love.”
Despite the injuries, both actors chose to continue filming. When asked if he needed a break, Gursewakh Singh decided to push through, inspired by Ranveer Singh’s attitude. Even Ranveer Singh, nursing an elbow injury, brushed it off, saying, “Elbow will be a little trouble exercising, but never mind–let’s do the scene.”
The shoot went on for weeks after that, but what stayed with Gursewakh Singh wasn’t just the work — it was the kindness. He shared that Ranveer Singh never once made him feel guilty about the incident.
Reflecting on it, he summed it up simply: “This is what humanity is… Love… Take care of each other.”
Dhurandhar 2 is showing no signs of slowing down. Released on 19 March, the film opened to massive numbers and has only gained momentum since. In just four days, it has stormed past the Rs 600 crore mark worldwide, with total earnings reported at around Rs 691.32 crore.
