
Aditya Dhar directorial and Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar: The Revenge finally hit the theatres after paid preview delays and cancellations. The film opened in the theatres with positive reviews from both critics and the audience.
Additionally, the film is also enjoying a successful run at the box office and has created new records.
Dhurandhar 2 witnessed record-breaking numbers at the domestic box office, earning Rs 102.55 crore nett in India on its first day on Thursday, March 19.
The movie's overall domestic earnings, including its paid preview revenues of Rs 43 crore, are Rs 145.55 crore.
According to early estimates, the movie made Rs 236.63 crore worldwide, solidifying its status as one of the largest openers in Indian cinema history.
Additionally, Dhurandhar 2 has now become the biggest Hindi opener of all time.
The Hindi version of the movie alone made Rs 99.10 crore on its first day of release, the biggest amount ever for a Hindi-language movie.
Despite regional screening delays, the Hindi version accounted for the majority of the Day 1 India revenue of Rs 102.55 crore.
Pushpa 2, which made Rs 70.30 crore on its opening day in Hindi, previously held the record.
The film has also left a mark globally as it has become the second biggest opening in Indian cinema worldwide.
Dhurandhar 2 has bagged the second spot among the largest Indian releases worldwide with Rs 236.63 crore on Day 1 (including previews).
It has surpassed SS Rajamouli's RRR, which made Rs 223 crore on its opening day, and is only behind Pushpa 2, which made Rs 275.2 crore.

The spy action thriller is a follow-up to the popular 2025 film Dhurandhar. The follow-up, which debuted on March 19 to overwhelmingly positive reviews from viewers, was much anticipated by fans.

The movie explores the beginnings of Ranveer Singh's character, Hamza, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, and reveals the reasons behind his goal. Additionally, it advances the plot by depicting him seizing control of Lyari's power structure while attempting to destroy a terror network in Pakistan that poses a threat to India.
The film also stars Sara Arjun, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and Rakesh Bedi among others in the key roles.
