Contrary to recent reports suggesting Bollywood star Ranveer Singh is set to produce a new Shaktimaan project, his team has categorically denied the claims. In a statement addressing the speculation, his spokesperson clarified: “The news about Ranveer Singh acquiring rights of developing a new superhero (Shaktimaan) project as the producer holds no truth. He is currently busy shooting for Aditya Dhar’s next, and then Don 3 is also on the cards for him.”
The clarification comes in response to several media reports, including a widely circulated piece by Filmfare, which claimed that Singh had acquired the rights to reboot the beloved Indian superhero franchise and was working on developing it into a high-budget OTT series. These reports also hinted at Singh possibly stepping into the titular role, or at least playing a major creative role behind the scenes.
However, those close to the actor have strongly refuted any such developments. Ranveer, known for his dynamic performances in films like Gully Boy, Padmaavat, and Bajirao Mastani, remains one of Bollywood’s busiest stars. With Don 3 and other high-profile commitments lined up, sources confirm that he is not currently involved in any superhero venture, including Shaktimaan.
The character of Shaktimaan, originally played by Mukesh Khanna, remains one of India’s most iconic television superheroes. The series, which aired from 1997 to 2005, left a deep cultural imprint on an entire generation. Any potential reboot is bound to generate widespread interest and scrutiny, especially regarding casting and creative direction.
While the idea of Ranveer Singh being attached to a project as legendary as Shaktimaan certainly captured the public imagination, fans will have to wait a little longer for credible updates. For now, it’s clear — Ranveer Singh is not producing Shaktimaan, and any talk of his involvement is purely speculative.
