The Japanese Ramayan liked by Audiences

Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama has been met with an enthusiastic reception following its recent theatrical release. Evoking a sense of nostalgia, the film has garnered an overwhelmingly positive response, particularly from audiences who consider it a cherished part of their childhood.

The film has also been praised for its ability to introduce the younger generation of India to the country's rich culture and heritage.

In an effort to further extend the film's legacy, Geek Pictures, the production company responsible for the Indian language versions of the film, has arranged special screenings for 1,600 students from BMC schools at Phoenix, Lower Parel, Mumbai, on February 5th and 6th.

The screenings aim to familiarise schoolchildren with the Ramayana, as told through the cinematic medium of Japanese anime, offering an innovative way to experience Valmiki’s epic. The screening on February 5th was graced by the presence of Mrs. Amruta Fadnavis, who received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from the attending students. Arjun Aggarwal, the founder of Geek Pictures India, was also in attendance, engaging with the students and enjoying the film alongside them. This initiative by Geek Pictures seeks to educate young minds about India's vast cultural and spiritual heritage.

The film, originally produced by Nippon Ramayana Films, is a collaboration between creators from both India and Japan.

The key contributors to the project include Yugo Sako and Ram Mohan. The film’s soundtrack, composed by the legendary Vanraj Bhatia, has also been widely appreciated.

Following its successful debut at the Maha Kumbh Mela last month, Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama is set to be screened at the Indian Parliament on February 15th, 2025, marking another significant milestone for the film.

The movie, released theatrically for the first time in India in 4K on January 24th, 2025, is currently being shown in cinemas across the country.
