Director Ram Gopal Varma, who is known for making bold statements, has now lashed out at the makers of Ram Charan Teja starrer Game Changer.

The Rangeela director has accused the makers for allegedly inflating the film's box office collection and he has termed it as a fraud.

RGV's remarks against Ram Charan Teja's latest release Game Changer has raised doubts about the film's reported box office numbers.

It also comes after huge discrepancies between the box office collections of the film claimed by the producers and reported by the trade.

Ram Gopal Varma took to his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday and wrote: "If @ssrajamouli and @SukumarWritings sky rocketed Telugu cinema in real time collections into a fantastically stratospheric heights thereby sending legitimate shock waves into Bollywood, the people behind G C succeeded in proving that the south is much more FANTASTIC in being a FRAUD."

He also questioned the box office collections of Game Changer and wrote, “I truly don’t know who’s behind this highly humiliating disgracing insult of undermining the extraordinary achievements of south thanks to Baahubali, RRR, KGF 2, Kantara etc and all of their achievements will be now in doubt because of G C claims.”

Game Changer's producers had shared that the film earned Rs 186 crore on day one of its release, January 10. The figure was shared on the film's official social media page. Going by the figures released by film's producers, it makes Game Changer the fourth-best opening Indian film ever, behind only Pushpa 2, Baahubali 2, and RRR.

However, trade sources reported that the film opened under Rs 100 crore worldwide, and Sacnilk reported that film had a collection of only Rs 80 crore.

Game Changer has been directed by Shankar. It stars Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, and SJ Suryah in the leads.

The political thriller got off to a strong start at the Indian box office but has since shown a decline in its collection.
