Rakesh Roshan on son Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne’s divorce: It was a misunderstanding

Veteran actor and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan recently opened up about his son Hrithik Roshan’s divorce from Sussanne Khan. He stated that their separation happened due to a “misunderstanding” but clarified that Sussanne is still considered a part of the Roshan family.

During an interaction with Yuvaa, Rakesh shared his thoughts on their relationship and how it changed over time. He said, “Whatever has happened has happened between the couple, for me Sussanne is Sussanne. They were the ones who fell in love, they were the ones who had a misunderstanding, and they have to solve it. For us, she came to our house, and she is still a member of the house.”

Despite their divorce, Hrithik and Sussanne have remained on good terms, co-parenting their two sons, Hrehaan and Hridhaan. The former couple has often been spotted together at family gatherings and vacations, showing that their mutual respect for each other remains strong.

Rakesh Roshan also spoke about his relationship with Hrithik and his daughter, Sunaina Roshan. He revealed that both of them were a little intimidated by him when they were younger, possibly due to his disciplined nature. However, he assured that he was never harsh or short-tempered with them.

“Hrithik and my daughter are a little scared of me. I don’t know, maybe because I am a well-disciplined man. I am not a short-tempered person, I am not a person who will scold anybody but I am very disciplined. When they were little, they wouldn’t talk to me openly, now they do. Now we are like friends at home,” he shared.

Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan got married in 2000, soon after Hrithik made his Bollywood debut with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. Their love story was widely admired, and they were considered one of the industry’s most adored couples. However, after 13 years of marriage, they announced their separation and later got divorced.

Even though they went their separate ways, Hrithik and Sussanne continue to co-parent their children, ensuring that their divorce does not affect the family bond. They have been spotted together at family functions and vacations with their kids, showing their commitment to maintaining a healthy relationship.

Both Hrithik and Sussanne have moved on in their personal lives. Hrithik is currently dating actress and singer Saba Azad, and the couple often makes public appearances together. Meanwhile, Sussanne is in a relationship with actor Arslan Goni.
