Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan don’t know how to act, Vettaiyan actor Alencier Ley Lopez makes a shocking statement

In a surprising and controversial statement, Malayalam actor Alencier Ley Lopez, known for his role in Vettaiyan, has made harsh remarks about two of Indian cinema’s most iconic figures - Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth.

The film, which marked the reunion of the two legends after 33 years, was highly anticipated by fans. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan features Rajinikanth as a tough, gun-slinging cop and Amitabh Bachchan as a righteous lawyer, setting the stage for a riveting courtroom face-off.

However, Alencier, who played a judge in the scene, shared a rather unexpected perspective during a media interaction.

“I realised Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan don’t know how to act,” Alencier stated, leaving many in disbelief. His comments were not just a casual observation but a direct critique of the legendary actors’ styles and performances.

Alencier revealed that he was not paid for his role, but instead was offered a flight ticket to Mumbai and luxurious five-star accommodation. “I was sent a flight ticket to Mumbai and they gave me accommodation at a five-star hotel. I just had to sit there as a judge for one shot, and opposite me, on either side, were Amitabh Bachchan sir and Rajinikanth sir,” Alencier recalled.

While the luxurious perks of the job were enticing, Alencier’s real reward seemed to lie in the opportunity to witness two acting titans perform up close.

However, Alencier wasn’t star-struck by the experience. Instead, he observed the actors’ performances with a critical eye. He humorously described Rajinikanth's over-the-top action sequences, reminiscing about the actor’s iconic stunts, including the time he supposedly stopped the whirring blades of a helicopter with his bare teeth.

“During my pre-degree days, I have seen Rajini sir stopping the whirring blades of a helicopter with his bare teeth. So, I wanted to see how he acts in front of the camera,” Alencier joked.

When it came to Rajinikanth’s portrayal in Vettaiyan, Alencier seemed less than impressed. He referred to Rajinikanth’s characteristic body language and stylized acting, as well as his dramatic exit from the courtroom.

Alencier then made his most scathing comment: “I realised I couldn’t compete with them because I didn’t know enough stylised acting, nor do I have a deep baritone. All I can do is perform in films made by the likes of Dileesh Pothan, Sharan Venugopal, and Rajeev Ravi.” These words took a sharp jab at the revered acting methods of Bachchan and Rajinikanth, implying that he prefers more grounded, realistic styles of filmmaking.

Acknowledging the storm his comments would undoubtedly create, Alencier admitted, “Honestly, I just used the opportunity to see how they performed, and not for establishing a career in Tamil.”

He was well aware that his remarks might alienate him from the Tamil film industry, possibly even close doors for future roles. However, Alencier seemed unfazed by the potential fallout, as his primary goal was simply to observe and learn from the experience.
