Among the 5 extraordinary PVRINOX Pictures films that have taken the global awards circuit by storm, ‘Emilia Perez  and Conclave are leading with over 13  and 8 nominations respectively, including nods for the big three categories - Best Picture, Best Director & Best leading Actor / Actress.

Leading the charge is Emilia Perez with 13 Oscar nominations, including the prestigious Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Leading Actress categories. Emilia Perez tells the story of a Mexican lawyer who is offered an unusual job to help a notorious cartel boss retire and transition into living as a woman, fulfilling a long-held desire.

Conclave

A gripping film which follows one of the world’s most secretive and ancient events – selecting the new Pope. Conclave earned 8 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Leading Actor. The film follows Cardinal Lawrence who is tasked with running this covert process after the unexpected death of the beloved Pope, as he finds himself at the center of a conspiracy and discovers a secret that could shake the very foundation of the Church.

Maria

Maria, featuring Angelina Jolie’s mesmerizing portrayal of opera legend Maria Callas, secured 1 nomination. This poignant biopic captures the famed opera singer’s retreat to Paris in the 1970s after a glamorous yet tumultuous life in the public eye.

The Substance

The Substance has garnered 5 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Leading Actress. The film is a captivating exploration of reinvention and ambition. Elisabeth Sparkle, renowned for an aerobics show, faces a devastating blow on her 50th birthday as her boss fires her. Amid her distress, a laboratory offers her a substance which promises to transform her into an enhanced version of herself

The Apprentice

The Apprentice received 2 nominations, including Best Leading Actor. The film showcases a young Donald Trump, eager to make his name as the hungry second son of a wealthy family in 1970s New York, who comes under the spell of cutthroat lawyer Roy Cohn. Cohn sees in Trump the perfect protege: someone with raw ambition, a hunger for success, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to win.
