Popular Punjabi comedian Jaswinder Bhalla passed away in the wee ours of Friday (August 22) at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, according to reports. The veteran actor and comedian was just 65.
According to reports, Bhalla was admitted to the hospital after suffering a brain stroke and he died today morning at 4 am.
Bhalla's cremation is going to be held on August 23 at 12 pm at Balongi cremation ground in Mohali, according to reports.
The Punjabi entertainment industry is in shock with the sudden demise of the senior actor, who was very active in the films.

Family, friends and colleagues from the film industry are going to reach the actor's residence during the day to pay their respects.
Bhalla was known for his comic roles and he became famous as Advocate Dhillon. His one liners were very famous and was seen in many superhit movies like Carry On Jatt.
Tributes have started pouring in on social media from all quarters for the veteran actor.
Former Hockey Player Pargat Singh wrote: "Deeply saddened by the passing of renowned Punjabi comedian Jaswinder Bhalla ji. His sharp wit, timeless characters & contribution to Punjabi cinema brought joy to millions. A huge loss to our culture & entertainment world."

Swati Maliwal, politician, mourned the loss and wrote: "Deeply saddened by the passing of legendary Punjabi comedian Jaswinder Bhalla ji. A true icon who used humour not just to entertain but to deliver powerful social messages. His contribution to art and society will always be remembered. Prayers for the departed soul"

He gained popularity in the late 1980s-90s owing to his comedy stage shows before making inroads in the movie industry.
He was seen in many hit movies and often played role that added the comic touch. Some of his notable films are Carry On Jatta (2012), Carry On Jatta 2 (2018) and his character of 'Advocate Dhillon' became immensely popular. He was also seen in the blockbuster series 'Jatt & Juliet'.
