Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom was recently released in the theatres with mixed reviews. The action thriller has opened in the US theatres with decent numbers and is expected to perform well at the domestic box office as well.
However, the recent rumours have suggested that Vijay was not the first choice for the film. Director Gowtam Tinnanuri reportedly had first approached the 'RRR' actor with the project during the filming of Acharya, released in 2022.
Interestingly, the rumours also suggested that Ram was quite impressed with the gripping spy-thriller script. The production of the film was supposed to start after Ram wraps up his films RRR and Acharya.
Ram had also previously teased the potential collaboration on his social media, creating a buzz among the fans. However, the film reportedly faced multiple delays and scheduling conflicts, leading to a change in the cast.
Meanwhile, producer Naga Vamsi has recently addressed the rumours and shared that the project that had been discussed with Ram Charan was an entirely different one, as reported by 123 Telugu.
The Telugu-language spy action thriller film is written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. Produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, the film has earned a whopping $650,000 (Rs 5.42 Cr) gross in North America on the first day.
Alongside Vijay Deverakonda, Satyadev and Bhagyashri Borse star in lead roles. The film also features an exciting cameo from the superstar Nani.
Kingdom revolves around Surya, an undercover cop, played by Vijay, who goes on a mission for his brother. Satyadev portrays Vijay’s brother, who got into trouble in Srilanka with Surya chiming in to rescue his brother.
