In a heartfelt conversation, Bollywood actor Preity Zinta has opened up about her personal struggles with IVF before she and her husband, Gene Goodenough, welcomed their twins through surrogacy.
Speaking candidly with Vogue, Preity reflected on the emotional and physical challenges she faced during this difficult period.
"Like everyone else, I have my good days and bad days," Preity shared. "It’s not always easy to maintain a happy-go-lucky attitude, especially when you’re going through something as challenging as IVF. During those cycles, I often found myself struggling to stay positive."
Known for her vibrant on-screen persona, Preity also touched on how she balances the pressures of social media with staying true to herself. "I prefer to keep it real because that’s who I am," she explained.
"Most of what I post on social media is shot and edited by me, and sometimes it’s not perfect — maybe my head or leg is cut off in a frame, but I’m okay with that. Authenticity matters more to me."
In addition to sharing her personal journey, Preity also mentioned her upcoming professional projects. Her iconic 2004 film, Veer-Zaara, directed by Yash Chopra, is set to re-release in theaters on September 13.
The film, which starred Shah Rukh Khan as Veer Pratap Singh, who falls in love with Preity's character, Zaara Hayaat Khan, remains a beloved classic in Bollywood.
On the work front, Preity was last seen in Bhaiaji Superhit alongside Sunny Deol. She is set to return to the big screen in Rajkumar Santoshi's upcoming film, Lahore 1947, marking her much-anticipated comeback.
As she continues to navigate her professional and personal life, Preity’s candid revelations offer a glimpse into the resilience and authenticity that define her journey.
