Prahalad Kakkar denies Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai's divorce rumours: "She is the bahu of the house"

There were several rumours which stated that Aishwarya had left the Bachhan residence and had started living with her mother Vrinda Rai.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were in the limelight for a while due to their divorce rumours. The couple, however, has quashed all rumours in the past few months with their public appearances at events and airports along with their daughter.

In a recent interview with Vickey Lalwani, ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar commented on Aishwarya and Abhishek's divorce speculations.

There were several rumours which stated that Aishwarya had left the Bachhan residence and had started living with her mother Vrinda Rai. But Prahald clarified that all those rumours and speculations about the couple's divorce were 'rubbish', as he lives in the same building as her mother.

"I live in her building and I know how much time she spends in the building. She comes to her mother's house because her mother is not keeping well. Aishwarya would drop her daughter to Ambani school and then would go and pick her up. In between she had time to kill so she would visit her mother, spend time with her mom. She then picks up her daughter and goes home. I know how close she is to her mom and is concerned about her," stated Prahalad.

When asked about the rumours of Aishwarya having troubled relationships with her mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan and sister-in-law Shweta Bachchan, Prahalad further replied, "So what? She is still the bahu of the house and she still runs the house. I knew there was no truth in it. Because I knew why she was there. People were saying she was scapegoating from her marriage and living with her mother. She wasn't living with her mother. She was just coming and spending time with her while her daughter was at school. And she didn't come on Sundays. I knew her concerns for her mother. Sometimes, Abhishek also came with her to visit her mother."

He also added, "If you notice, neither Abhishek nor Aishwarya have given a comment on this. Why should they? Tum Bhaukte raho. She has always kept her dignity and journalists hated her for that."

Prahalad also remarked that he is very protective of Aishwarya as they share decades old friendship since the actress's modelling days. He launched her in the Pepsi ad that later became a huge hit and made her a sensation during her initial days in the industry.

Aishwarya and Abhishek tied the knot in 2007 and later welcomed daughter Aaradhya in 2011.

However, speculation about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan’s relationship first surfaced in 2024, when Aishwarya and her daughter attended Anant Ambani’s wedding separately from the rest of the Bachchan family—Amitabh, Jaya, Abhishek, Shweta, Agastya Nanda, and Navya Nanda. This fueled rumours of a possible separation.
