Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Indian-American vocalist Chandrika Tandon for winning the Grammy award and said it is commendable how she has remained passionate about Indian culture and has been working to popularize it.
Tandon has won the Grammy award for the album "Triveni" in the Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album category. The 67th edition of the biggest musical awards night, organized by the Recording Academy, was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Prime Minister Modi congratulated her and praised her for her win at the Grammys and wrote on X, "Congratulations to @chandrikatandon on winning the Grammy for the album Triveni. We take great pride in her accomplishments as an entrepreneur, philanthropist and of course, music! It is commendable how she has remained passionate about Indian culture and has been working to popularise it. She is an inspiration for several people."

Tandon, also a global business leader and the elder sister of former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, won the award along with her collaborators, South African flautist Wouter Kellerman and Japanese cellist Eru Matsumoto.
Chandrika Tandon's Grammy win marks her first victory after receiving her second nomination, having previously been nominated in 2009 for Soul Call. In a backstage interview with the Recording Academy, the Chennai-born artist expressed her excitement, sharing, "It feels amazing."
Speaking of the winning album, Triveni, symbolizing the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, represents a seamless collaboration between three artists from diverse cultural backgrounds: Chandrika Tandon, South African flautist Wouter Kellerman, and Japanese cellist Eru Matsumoto. Released on August 30, 2024, the album features seven tracks, each telling a distinct story while united by the central theme of healing and spiritual harmony.
