Instagram India has restricted access to these accounts in the country. This step has been taken two days after Indian government banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels.

As per a government source cited by ANI, "On the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government of India has banned the 16 Pakistani YouTube channels including Dawn News, Samaa TV, Ary News, Geo News for disseminating provocative and communally sensitive content, false and misleading narratives and misinformation against India, its Army and security agencies in the backdrop of the tragic Pahalgam terror incident in Jammu and Kashmir."

Several other Pakistani artists' Instagram accounts have been restricted for the Indian audience including Ali Zafar, Sanam Saeed, Bilal Abbas, Iqra Aziz, Imran Abbas, and Sajal Aly.

However, Pakistan artists like Fawad Khan and Atif Aslam's Instagram accounts are still accessible to Indian users.

The release of Fawad Khan's comeback Bollywood movie Abir Gulaal has also been cancelled in India.

As part of its response to the recent attack, India has taken several measures, including banning Pakistani accounts and YouTube channels as a stance against the spread of terrorism. A devastating terrorist attack in Baisaran, Pahalgam, Kashmir, claimed the lives of 26 individuals, including a mix of tourists, locals, and foreign nationals.
