Pakistani actress Hania Aamir faces backlash from Muslim fans after she shares pics wearing bindi amidst Holi celebrations

Hania shared a series of pictures on Instagram on March 14 and in few of the pictures she was wearing a bindi.

Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, who enjoys immense popularity worldwide, including in India, has found herself at the center of controversy following her recent Holi post. After sharing a festive greeting while wearing a bindi, she faced backlash from a section of Pakistani social media users, who accused her of being unfaithful to her religion.

As a result, many have started unfollowing her online, with some even making extreme remarks, equating her actions with defiance of faith.

Hania shared a series of pictures on Instagram on March 14 and in few of the pictures she was wearing a bindi. The caption read, "a wise man once spit facts; hear no evil, see no evil so I speak no evil. Also Happy Holi to everyone celebrating!"

The actress received mixed reaction on her post. Many users labelled her celebration of Holi as "un-Islamic." Several users accused her of pandering to her Indian audience, flooding the comments section with disapproving remarks. A netizen wrote, "Maturity is realising..she is doing this to gain much popularity from Indian audience." Another user wrote, "I don't want to follow someone who is fully contributing to distracting our generation. So, I'm doing my part and unfollowing." A comment read, "Tht bindi makes me to unfollow uh!.it's ramdan broo and ur doing thissss in Pakistan." Expressing their disapproval, a netizen also wrote, "Yaar main aapki bahut badi fan Thi lekin bht disappointed kiya apnay aap Musalman hokar hinduon ka riwaj karti hai.

However, there were also a section of fans who defended Hania and took stand for her. A fan wrote, "the bindi looks so cute." Another comment read, "Nothing disgusts me more than seeing such illiterate comments on a normal post." A fan also commented, "If you cannot tolerate something as small as a bindi — which is not even a core part of Hindu religious practice — then how can you tolerate a Hindu? Yet, you claim that Islam is a peaceful religion."

Hania Aamir is a Pakistani actress known for popular Pakistan dramas including Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, Mere Humsafar, Dil Ruba, Anaa and more. She also gained much attention after she was spotted attending singer Diljit Dosanjh and rapper Badshah's concerts.
