Pakistani actors Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan slammed by NRI netizens over negative comments on Operation Sindoor

Following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, on April 22 that claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians—many of them tourists who were reportedly asked their religion before being shot—the Indian Armed Forces launched a strong and calculated response. On May 7, India executed Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terrorist hideouts: four in Pakistan and five in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). While the move was widely applauded in India and by many global voices, it drew harsh criticism from some Pakistani celebrities, notably Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan, triggering a fiery backlash from Indian and NRI social media users.

Although their posts condemning Operation Sindoor are not visible in India due to the government's ban on Pakistani artists' accounts after the Pahalgam massacre, screenshots of the posts have gone viral online. Hania and Mahira allegedly labeled the operation as “cowardly,” sparking intense outrage among Indian-origin users abroad.

One furious NRI posted on X (formerly Twitter):
